Lesson 3 - THE RUN IS THE REWARD
I don't know if you are like me, but when I work out even a little I begin to think I might starve, and I think I deserve to eat like a monster because dang it I did three whole push ups, so I start to stuff my face with all the food I can find and I don't bother to try and stop myself. Or I might even have a beer or two to reward myself for going for a run.
The more I work out and the more consistent I get, I am changing my perspective to realize that the workout is actually the reward and I don't need anything to supplement that. The additional energy, improved mental and physical states, and overall sense of accomplishment are reward enough and I don't have to continue adding unhealthy rewards at the end that negate the effects of the workout anyway.
I am raising money for two charities: The Front Row Foundation and Our Pioneers. I am lucky enough to know the people who operate these charities and value each of their causes and missions deeply. So if you feel so inclined to support their causes and me through providing more inspiration with every dollar donated it would be greatly appreciated.
